Chelsea are set to hand Eden Hazard a deal which will see him become the club’s top earner in a bid to fend off interest from Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Express, which utilises the fact that Jose Mourinho appeared to confirm that the future of his Belgian star was all but wrapped up, the Blues aren’t taking any chances, and want to bump Hazard’s wages up from £170,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week to reflect his position as the most influential player in the squad.

The new tact comes following a string of transfer rumours which have left Chelsea fans fearing the worst with regards to the 23-year-old’s future. His classy performances are said to have attracted the attentions of Real Madrid, who are ever on the look out for the next Galactico to add to their books, and interest from mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain is never far away
However, with Jose Mourinho now getting the best out of Hazard after an indifferent first season at Stamford Bridge the playmaker is in the form of his life, and he was even awarded the No.10 shirt to symbolise his importance for the west London giants.
